- Many student-athletes want to pursue scholarship options at
various universities, offered for Division I (excluding Ivy
League schools) and Division II only, but should keep in mind
the reality and competitiveness of the situation. This
article provides a realistic overview for students and their
families as they research their options. This
NCAA webpage offers student-athletes a way to research their
options at all NCAA schools, including sorting by Division,
League and School, and also provides links to specific team
pages. Simply go to the left column and click on the sport (by
season) you are interested in to learn more. Students applying
to Division I and II schools must register with the NCAA
Eligibility Center (formerly the NCAA Clearinghouse) before
getting too far along in the admissions process. All athletes
should print a copy of the NCAA
Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete early in the
process to familiarize themselves with the rules and timetables.
